Vaping Guide & FAQ

The description of vaping is exactly as the word depicts, the inhale of vapor from a personal electronic device, turning liquid into vapor. It simulates the act of smoking without the combustion of tobacco or the inhale of thousands of different chemicals and carcinogenic compounds.

Should I Vape?

If you are a smoker vaping simulates the action of smoking, both the hand to mouth action, the only difference is that you are not smoking and inhaling well know cancer causing chemicals.

What devise do i buy to start vaping?

This all comes down to personal choice, however some devices have advanced features, some are more expensive than others, and some are regulated and some are mechanical ( Description of both types explained further down the page). If you are wanting to start vaping we suggest you first buy a starter Kit  like a vape pen.

Is Vaping safe?

We are not at liberty to give you medical advise. Stopping smoking all together is the best action to take. Vaping is a relative new product and practice, and currently there are many studies taking place on the affects of Vaping. One recent study being the Royal College of Physicians in the UK.

Device explained

There are two types of Mods, a box mod and a mechanical mod ( regulated and unregulated)

There is a difference between the two.

-Mechanical Mods do not  have any electrical components, these have no circuits or chips rendering them unregulated. Meaning the connection is only made when you fire the mod thus making a connection between the battery and atty. Experienced vapers

-Regulated Mods are the complete opposite, comprising themselves with electrical components i.e. chips and circuit boards, meaning that the fire button when pressed sends a message to the processor which regulates wattage and voltage to the atty, they also give you features such as puff count, ohm reading,  wattage and safety features.

Regulated device

PG (Propylene glycol)

Commonly mixed with VG as the base for e-juice. This is a solvent that’s used in all sorts of things. Along with being a solvent, its mainly known for its use in fog machines.  A higher VG mix e-juice will produce thicker clouds of vapor. However PG can dry out your throat and even cause mild allergic reactions in some users. If you have any issues with PG, just use a 100% VG e-juice

VG (Vegetable Glycerin)

The Base makes up 80-90% of e-juice and is composed of 100% VG or a mix with PG. Common ratios are 100% VG, 50/50 PG/VG, and 80/20 PG/VG. It is widely used in all types of food and personal care products like toothpaste

Cost of Vaping

vaping is cost effective. The initial start up cost for a good starter kit is between $29-$40  and $15-$30 for E-liquid. From here on in it depends on how much you vape.

Battery safety

DO NOT puncture, cut, crush, short circuit, recharge, expose to water, fire, or high temperature–fire or explosion may result

DO NOT place loose batteries in a pocket, purse, or other receptacle containing metal objects

DO NOT mix with used or other battery types

DO NOT store with hazardous or combustible materials

DO NOT use water to put out a burning lithium battery — use a class “D” fire extinguisher or other smothering agent

DO NOT mix disposable and rechargeable batteries in your illumination tool

DO NOT put batteries into a device backwards

DO NOT allow children access to lithium batteries

DO store lithium batteries in a cool, dry, ventilated area

Coil Terminology

- Is the element which hits up to create the vapor of you e-liquid juice once wicked with cotton

Prior to purchasing and using any rebuild-able atomizer, you must make sure that you fully understand the following:

1. All rebuild-able atomizer coils must first be tested prudently with a proper meter

prior to it being used, as untested atomizer coils can be extremely dangerous.

2. Coils that have been improperly configured or are otherwise faulty can blow your electronic device, which can result in serious injury to you and/or your property.

3. Atomizer coils that have been newly constructed must be tested on a meter, then first used on an advanced personal vaporizer (APV) that has all of the appropriate safety features, including short-circuit protection. Once the atomizer coil has been tested and used on such a device, you can then cautiously use the coil on a mechanical MOD.

4. Faulty or otherwise improperly configured rebuild-able atomizer coils can damage electronic devices, which can result in bodily injury or harm.

What is Ohms Law?

Ohms Law is used to determine the current, voltage and resistance in any circuit. A vaporizer is an electronic circuit. If you intend to build your own coils, knowledge of ohms law is a must!!  Below is a link to a free ohms calculator

RBA - Rebuild-able atomizer. Encompasses all variations of rebuild-able device

RDA - Rebuild-able dripping atomizer. Typified by a short, 510 base, sufficient to hold a coil or coils, with a small juice well to drip juice into via the drip tip. Often the most flavorful, and most often used for sub-ohm vaping.

RTA - Rebuild-able tank atomizer. A  liquid tank that surrounds and feeds the atomizer chamber.

Kanthal wire : Fantastic wire for the new comers to coil building. It is easy to work with and non forgiving. Flavor wise it gives you the base line to your e-liquids

Nichrome wire: Nichrome wire is a step up from Kanthal with a quicker heating time and enhancement in the flavor of your vape. Nichrome is a softer and more workable wire but should be handled by builders with a good understanding of coil building

Nickel wire: Nickle heats up even quicker than Nichrome. It being so soft has its pros and cons. It has a very low resistance and is susceptible to melting when firing at high wattage. Best used in combination with the above two wires. Temp controlled wire

Titanium wire: Advanced wire used on temp controlled mods. heats up like a dream and also cools fast. Brings out more flavor in your e-liquids

Stainless Steel wire: This wire is long lasting, durable and a dream to work with. Improved flavor.
